Thesis
RENK makes the transmissions and drivetrains inside main battle tanks and other tracked military vehicles, plus naval gear units — high-spec, often sole-source content that scales directly with European rearmament and land-system production. As NATO members raise defense spending and ramp armored-vehicle output, RENK sits in the supply chain of nearly every relevant platform.
It is a picks-and-shovels beneficiary of higher defense budgets with a large installed base driving aftermarket and service revenue. The risks are program timing, the lumpiness of large vehicle orders, and a post-IPO ownership overhang from its private-equity backer.
Catalysts
- European armored-vehicle production rates
- Defense-budget increases across NATO
- Naval and aftermarket / service demand
- Order backlog and free-cash-flow conversion
