Thesis

Qblox builds the control-and-readout electronics that drive qubits — the layer between the quantum processor and the classical computer — with a focus on scalability as qubit counts grow into the hundreds and thousands. Spun out of QuTech (Delft), it sells into quantum labs and developers across modalities.

The investment case is a picks-and-shovels position in the quantum control stack, modality-agnostic like cryogenics. As a private name it has no market cap here; coverage conviction reflects a credible but earlier-stage enabler. Risks: competition from Quantum Machines, Zurich Instruments, and Keysight; quantum-funding cyclicality; and the small absolute size of the market today.

Catalysts

  • Control-system design wins with large quantum programs
  • Scalability milestones (qubits per controller)
  • Competitive position vs. Quantum Machines / Zurich Instruments
  • Quantum-sector capital environment
