Thesis
Lambda is a GPU cloud ("neocloud") providing NVIDIA-accelerated compute for AI training and inference, competing with CoreWeave and the hyperscalers on price, availability, and developer experience. It has scaled from selling deep-learning workstations into large-scale cloud capacity backed by NVIDIA allocation.
The investment case is leverage to the GPU-compute shortage — selling scarce accelerated capacity to AI builders. As a private name it has no market cap here; coverage conviction reflects its position in a fast-growing but increasingly crowded neocloud market. Risks: capital intensity, GPU-supply and depreciation cycles, customer concentration, and competition from CoreWeave, Crusoe, and the hyperscalers.
Catalysts
- Contracted GPU capacity and utilization
- NVIDIA allocation and next-gen (Blackwell+) access
- Anchor-customer commitments
- Financing and capacity-expansion pace
