Thesis

Dassault Aviation builds the Rafale — a European combat-aircraft prime riding a multi-year export-and-rearmament cycle — alongside the Falcon line of business jets. Rafale orders from France and a widening set of export customers across the Gulf, Europe, and Asia give multi-year production visibility, and rising European defense budgets reinforce the demand backdrop.

The business jet franchise adds a civil leg that is more cyclical but cash-generative. Dassault carries a strong balance sheet and a stake in Thales. The risks are program lumpiness, the long timeline to next-generation combat air (FCAS), and dependence on a relatively small number of large export campaigns.

Catalysts

  • Rafale export campaigns and order intake
  • French and European defense-budget growth
  • Falcon deliveries and business-jet demand
  • FCAS / next-generation combat-air progress
